Oral and Poster Presentations

Meet the new generation of science communicators. The BSYSB Presentation sessions are events in which the Presenting Authors have the opportunity to share their findings with all the other participants.

BSYSB 2024 brings another edition of our well-known oral and poster presentations. You can now once again present your scientific work or participate as a member of the public in any of the sessions in person.

If you want to become a Presenting Author, we must warn you that our prizes have become more and more alluring over the years.

Are you a Passive participant?

  • Watch the sessions, engage with the presenting authors.

 Are you a Presenting Author?

Active participant is a member of the author’s collective who is presenting the research during the Congress. Only one author per abstract could be an active participant.

Every participant can present his research as a poster or an oral presentation.

The categories are:

  • Fundamental sciences
  • Internal medicine
  • Surgery
  • Public Health (including Dental Medicine, Pharmacology)

Fundamental Sciences

  • Participants in this category can present scientific work related to the early stages of research preceding clinical trials. This often involves using experimental animals to determine the potential success and utility of new drugs, procedures, or treatment plans.
  • Areas of research include: Anatomy, Biology, Biophysics, Histology, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Microbiology, and more.

Internal Medicine

  • Participants can submit case reports detailing unusual clinical cases that have led to the identification of new diseases and adverse treatment effects. These studies play a crucial role in medical research and evidence-based medicine by helping to understand the clinical spectrum of rare diseases and atypical presentations of common disorders.
  • Areas of research include: Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Neurology, Rheumatology, and more.

Surgery

  • Participants in this category can present original research articles and clinical studies focusing on clinical and laboratory research pertinent to surgical practice and education. Emphasis is placed on findings that directly impact surgical management. Surgeons and physicians can share insights on new surgical techniques and treatment plans that affect patient outcomes.
  • Areas of research include: Gastroenterological Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Breast and Endocrine Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery, Transplant Surgery, Emergency Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, and more.

Public Health

  • Public Health Research aims to explore the impact of health determinants—genetic, environmental, social, etc.—on population health. The goal is to use this knowledge to propose scientifically based interventions and policies to improve health and well-being and reduce health inequalities.
  • Students from all biomedical specialties are welcome. The only requirement is that the research work be relevant to one of the four categories listed above (e.g., dentistry students can submit a case report from maxillofacial surgery in the Surgery category).
